Warmun Community Aged Care Facility Repurposed as Workers Accommodation

The former aged care facility, which is owned by the Warmun Community, was built in 2014 as part of reconstruction efforts following a devastating flood. However, it never became a fully operational aged care facility due to difficulties in securing an operator and the increasing regulatory requirements imposed by the federal government.

This project was to focus on a way to repurpose the former aged care facility in Warmun into accommodation for workers and an activity center. This initiative now provides affordable housing options for the remote Indigenous community in the East Kimberley.

Like our client, the Fulcrum Agency, we are proud to assist the Warmun community with this important project.
